I really miss my kids when I'm away ...

Not the big stuff - just the small, everyday moments. Being there. The micro-moments of life that you don't even notice until you're not in them.

So I started forward-planning my text messages. And honestly? Game changer!

Today my 17-year-old finishes his last exam for the semester. My daughter finishes a much anticipated fourth-year law exam tonight. I won't be home. I won't even be contactable. But they're both going to get a message from me right when they walk out because I planned it that way.

It's not just the big moments either. "There's leftovers in the fridge." "Feed the dog." "Please check the BBQ is off." (We learnt that one the hard way! 🔥 🤦‍♀️ )

I love my job. I love my clients. I love to travel. But this little trick just helps me stay in it at home, even when I'm not there.
