If you don’t get at least a little nervous when speaking in public - there is a problem.
The image below is from the McDonald's top talent program and the participants have just been given an impromptu one minute presentation. The challenge is no notes and from the seated position - you can see the concentration in the moments before they are ‘on stage’.
So what is the trick to ‘nail’ this type of presentation?
1. Don’t demonise your nerves, they are good - you should be nervous and the the nerves help you perform.
2. Have a plan but not a script.
3. Look at your self-talk before you present, are you being kind or unkind to yourself?
